In line with government guidelines all activities and events at the club have been cancelled until further notice.

In order to keep in touch with members during the lockdown each member has been assigned to a committee member of the club who will endeavour to keep in regular contact with them either via email or telephone.  Please do ask your contact if you need any help especially with shopping or collection of prescriptions from the chemist in the village.  Although your contact may not be able to offer direct help as many of them are self-isolating, they will be able to pass your needs on to the volunteers who are helping in the village.

You can also make direct contact with those operating the Coronavirus Community Response by ringing the helpline on 07395 902961 or if you have access to the internet visit or search Facebook for “Barrow upon Soar Helping Hands”.

Because of the coronavirus outbreak it is not possible to hold the Easter Bonnet competition which would have taken place at the Easter afternoon tea next Wednesday, 15 April.  However, Joyce has suggested that those of you who were planning to create a bonnet might still like to do so and hang it on your front door over Easter.  If you let her know Joyce will then photograph them and then either circulate the photos or keep them (the photos that is!) until we can meet again at the club and view them.  Although Joyce says that it will not be a competition this year if enough members take part we could make it a virtual competition using the photographs – perhaps we will play that by ear!?!
Anyone stuck at home most of the time you might like to take part in a quiz that Mike has compiled.  Please click below to go to the Barrow Streets Quiz which hopefully might keep you occupied for a while.  Good luck and stay safe.
